The Center for Global Health of the Department of Medical Innovation at Osaka University Hospital (hereinafter “the Center”) recognizes the importance of protecting personal information in an advanced information and communication society, and strives to protect personal information based on the following policies.

1. Acquisition of Personal Information

The Center will acquire personal information by lawful and fair means.

2. Purpose of Using Personal Information

When personal information is used, the Center will use it within the scope of the purpose for which consent to acquire the personal information was given, and will be used as needed to achieve the purpose.

3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

With the exception of the cases specified by law, the Center will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the consent of the person in advance.

4. Compliance with and Review of Laws, Regulations and Norms

The Center will comply with the laws and regulations, guidelines set by the country, and other norms regarding the protection of personal information.

5. Safety Measures for Personal Information

The Center will take the appropriate information security measures against unauthorized access, computer viruses, etc. to secure the accuracy and safety of personal information, and strive to prevent the falsification, leakage or loss of personal information.

6. Inquiries Regarding Personal Information

The Center will respond without delay to requests such as for the disclosure, correction, deletion or stop of use of a person’s own personal information, and to complaints or inquiries for consultation. The Center will also strive to keep personal information accurate and up to date.
